Francis , is - it right or wrong to "add" some records (1981 for the latest) where musicians belongs to Magma only after this period ?
perso , je pars en chasse pour le Sheila avec Moze ! çà , sur et certain que je le connais pas ! ;D

Ahoi Gouzi, my list is only for musicians who played in Magma until the end of 1981. And i don't list singles with songs that appeared on lp too. So very appreciated help could be - knowing a Magma musician from this period that is completely missed, tell me albums than - knowing by source link that an entry is wrong, or a musician is missed in it. - sometimes musicians play under a pseudonym. That can be the biggest problem to find albums. So if you know a pseudonym and the musician isn't with that album on the list, please tell me. - if you have a source that an album was recorded earlier. RECORDED, not distributed! That can also be cases of splitted years. For instance see the review under my pseudo "siriuspooka" rateyourmusic.com/release/album/christian_vander__jeff_saeffer__jef_catoire_and_jef_gilson/christian_vander_et_les_trois_jef/- there is a follow up list in work, that i create together with a friend. It will be for the period 1982 - 1989. Please be patient, it's really very much work and it will take a while! Also for that list your help will be welcome than! BUT NOT NOW! Please wait with suggesting something for that list! Thanks! Last but not least: I hope looking at the list and trying to find new entries will be interesting and fun for you all! And I want to thank Laurent Thibault here and now that he contacted me privately with informations! That made me able to add some new albums last night. Whopee, let's go! Francis

OK ; that's clear ! I think it was the way you created your list ! you said (re quote) : "sometimes musicians play under a pseudonym. That can be the biggest problem to find albums. So if you know a pseudonym and the musician isn't with that album on the list, please tell me." I don't think about specially "pseudonym" but for my 2 best musicians friends in the Zeuhl world , I can say , that Yochk'o Seffer and Paco Charlery were the musicians I was closest (real friends in real life) ! For me , it seems strange that for Yochk'o , I see "J". instead of "Y" ( yeah , Jeff , I know , but ....) and the real (comment on dit prénom ?) "prénom" of Paco Charléry was Alain but everybody called him Paco , even his family ! I met him in Martinique , long time ago ! Just hurting me when I see " A. Charlery" even if it's right ! It was "P.Charlery" for eveyone ! details ..... lack of time today but we will help you ! This week - end , I'll look to your list , takin' time , quietly ! If you're in touch with Laurent Thibault , that's really great ; he knows very well the subject ! But some other guys , here , too ! For the moment , the only missing thing probably I see ( not sure ) is that ex Magma played on other Eddy Mitchell albums ! Paco (not A . ) also played , during this period on different records , but maybe not credited ! Anyway , I'll look at your loooooong list more carefully this week -end and I'll try to help ! but , there are more usefull helpers than me , here ! let's the old fans express their opinions and ideas ! Man wird zunehmen ! Langsam aber sicher ! sorry for my poor english !

Thanks, gouzi, that you will have a closer look at possibly missing albums in the weekend!
I'm sure that in this forum are very competent people and i'm very happy that this discussion with you all here is possible.
And i want to declare that by using shortened names like J. Seffer or A. Charlery instead of Yochk'o and Paco in the list i don't want to hurt anybodies feelings! Same for Doudou Weiss, etc. - It's just common in many discographies. And i wanted to take into consideration that besides specialists there are allways new people, young or old, finding interest in Magma and the history, that don't know about friendly nicknames at once.
With pseudonyms that are more difficult to know about i mean who for instance knows AT ONCE who is one of the Magma founders called "Whamdam" in some albums? I'm sure also some specialists will not know who it is without a research. So for me one really important question to you all is if you probably know other pseudonyms that are difficult to research and overlooked to fast?
Thanks in advance for all your efforts! Francis

I love these kind of encyclopedian lists. Useless but so enjoyable... I had mentionned one of those disc in another topic here. This Françoise Moreau 45, is not in Francis' list yet. Also, on the wonderful Encyclopedisque website, you can search the entries Francoise Moreau & Francois Imbert and there are discs with ex Magma members: - Mange ta soupe et va au lit (featuring Claude Engel). No date but it's before 1981 for sure. - Comptines en robe de lune n°3 (featuring Teddy Lasry). No date again, but it was released in the 70s. - comptines en robe de lune n°2 (the one mentioned above from 1970, featuring Lasry, Moze and Engel)

There are also 2 rare albums by ROGER SIFFER in the 70s featuring Pierre Moerlen. [By the way, I find it strange to include Moerlen in this ex-Magma list... but for exhaustivity, it's your choice] One is hereNot sure the link will last forever so be quick to catch the sleeve and the info on the back sleeve. My copy of this disc is from 1975, but I think it is a re-release. I will post info on the second album later (I need to scan the sleeve)

Many thanks, hixem! Could you help with Moreau a little bit? I found out that it is a series of 4 (3 ep, 1 cassette), so selftitled "Comptines en robe de lune" and No. 2, No. 3, No. 4. The last one is a cassette. And a same titled lp with 19 songs exists. Now i'm not sure what to do because not having the overview, if all titles (and mentioned Magma musicians) are on this lp. Do you know that? Here the complete lp: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMHxac5Nk5IThanks for helping so far. And i hope you all have fun with that list. Isn't it a little bit like eastern? Francis Hello Francis I have made further search and found details for "Comptines en robe de lune n° 1" 45 EP (see images below - this is the original cover art - the link you provided on RateYourMusic is the reissue). It features Teddy Lasry on flute, and has 6 tracks. So now with details available for n°1, 2, and 3, you know exactly on which tracks the ex-Magma members are playing. As for "Comptines en robe de lune n° 4", I think it is in fact the same release as the complete LP, wich gathers exactly the 19 tracks, all from the first 3 volumes. By the way, I think this LP is from the 80s, but not sure... Attachments:

Ho, there is even more with Francoise Moreau & Francois Imbert ! I have found another serie - Chantines 1 (45 EP - featuring Teddy Lasry again). Take a look at the reissue here with all details on scan, but the original should be this one. - Chantines 2 (33 rpm LP here which features Teddy Lasry credited for "sonic research". Do you think it should be included in your list ? And just when you think it's over, you find another one (yes, easter eggs), from Moreau and Imbert again : - Francoise Moreau - Francois Imbert - no title , featuring Lasry on flute (the scan of the back cover is bad, but you can see it though). No date but the look on the sleeve makes no doubt, it's from the late 60s - early 70s !
